Please note these instructions are for using a label printer to print spine labels. If you are looking to set up a label printer with your computer please contact the help desk for assistance.

After creating an item and while still in Copy/Item List, highlight your library’s item

On toolbar, go to Items → Print Spine Labels

If call number has 3 lines of info, back space second row out to first row so that Dewey number is on first line and author is on second line

Click on Page Setup at the bottom

Change printer Name to Zebra TLP2824 Plus ZPL (This printer needs to be set up ahead of time.)

Click on Select Font

Recommended: Arial/ Bold/12. This will stay as your default. Click OK

Click Properties

In the Options tab, under Size, change:

Width: 1.50

Height: 1.00

Under Unprintable Area, change

Left: 0.20

Right: 0.20

In the Advanced Setup tab, change Left Position to .3 inch

Hit OK, then OK, then Export

Tips:

If nothing comes out when you print, click on Properties, go up to Stock and under Print Method choose Direct Thermal and then OK. This should correct it.

If labels are printing and then get out of line where it will not print, reset the printer. To do this, hold down the green button on the front side. It will flash once, then twice, three times and then four. After the four in a row, let go. It will feed out some blank ones, but will reset to the right place.

If it’s still not printing right, contact the Help Desk.
