Domain Listing Invoice/Offer

It's not a true scam. It's a company that lists websites (like the old yellow pages), but they make it sound like you need to renew. They get away with it because there is a disclaimer stating that it is not a bill, but a solicitation. (see highlighted portion) It is junk mail and do not send them money.

MNLINK Borrowing Shutdown

In preparation for the transition Minitex will shut down all MNLINK borrowing at 5pm Monsday, April 29th.

MNLINK borrowing will be restored, with the new software, midday on Tuesday, April 30th.  There will be no MNLINK requesting for patrons between 5pm and 10am.

Notify Your Patrons

In order to notify patrons of the downtime and transition, MNLINK has sent SELCO bookmarks and posters advertising the changes. We will be sending those to each library in delivery in the coming days.

Additionally, attached is a quarter sheet insert in word that MNLINK has provided to help notify patrons of the changes, which you are free to adjust as you deem fit. Here is the google link to the quarter sheet as well.

VuFind Training

Minitex held a VuFind training for staff on Wednesday, April 24. The recorded session of that training can be found here. https://umn.zoom.us/rec/share/5f09-1xFDf37GsgvMkwkWVVOiDDEWK0MtYOO3U94DDb6QAHNK6nyz8lFhAmUorBJ.zETJDfh39zK7N4qB

Finally, be aware that many regions are lowering their limits of requests in anticipation of the transition. This may cause longer waits and more requests disallowed.
