Item Level Requests
Use Item level requests only if you want a specific item/copy of a book.
Scenarios: 1. A patron is looking for the most recent copy of Rick Steves’ Best of Europe (not an old 2010 version).
2. Some libraries split DVD TV series into separate containers. You will need the Item Level request to get the exact discs your borrower wants.
Note: it might take longer to get a specific copy of an item, if it’s checked out to someone else.

Things to note about Requests:
There are two primary forms of requests in the system: bib (or title) level and item specific level .
Holds, Reserves, and Requests all mean the same thing, and are often used interchangeably.
There are two parts to placing a request: searching for the item and searching for a borrower.
Borrowers will place Requests through Enterprise (which will be covered in a later unit); staff generally use Horizon.
You can restrict your searches to a certain library and certain item type (book, DVD, etc.)
