Sometimes, no matter how many times you scan an item from your pull list, it never goes into transit.
From what we’ve seen, the root cause of this is requestors having fines/fees exceeding $10. Because this exceeds the fine limit, a transit block is placed on their account. No holds for that patron can reach their pickup location.
Why does this happen? Sometimes, items get targeted for holds before other items on a patron record are marked lost or damaged. This can lead to your item being attached to the patron even though your item can’t actually go into transit.
Other times, Circulation Managers place holds for patrons exceeding these fines and override the warning prompt. This can also cause an item to be targeted for your pull list even though the item will never go into transit.
An item for a patron appears on your pull list. As you’re grabbing your pull list items for the day, staff at another library noticed that the same patron damaged an item and marked it, causing the patron’s fine limit to go above $10. When you bring your item back to the desk, the item will not go into transit.
To clear this item, you can:
Ignore the stuck item. Evergreen will clear your item from the pull list the next day.
Select the item on your pull list -> go to Actions -> Find another target. This will clear it off your list sooner and may retarget the item to a different patron.
Either option is acceptable in these situations.
