Running the Pull List
Video version of instructions.
Open the Circulation folder in the Navigation Pane.
Double Click Circulation Reports.
On the Menu bar, go to Requests > Request Pull List.
Once the report has loaded (it sometimes takes a minute)
Print it off.
(If you close it before printing, the report needs to be reset by SELCO Help Desk.)
Click on the List Pulled button
Select Yes, because that will bind your location to each item, (and it lets SELCO know that someone has run the Pull List that day).
Collect the items on the list.
If you cannot find a requested item, mark it trace in the item’s record, otherwise the item will keep showing up on your list, as it's bound to your library. Mark Item Missing guide. Watch Mark Item Missing
Scan each item in the CKI window.
For each item, fill out the delivery slip using a black Sharpie and the correct library code. Band a handful of items together that are going to the same library, using one slip.
Make sure you pack your tub with books in one tub, media in another - OR if one tub, then books on the bottom, media on top (and never band media with books). More delivery resources.
Run the Expired/Canceled Holds Report.
Best Practices - PULL LIST
Your library should run the Pull List at least once before each delivery pick up for your location. For example, if you get delivery 5 times per week, then you should run the Pull List at least 5 times per week.
It’s good to get in the habit of daily running a report for Expired or Canceled Holds. It is easy-in the same place as running the pull list: In Horizon 🡪 Circ Folder 🡪 Circ Reports 🡪 Requests 🡪 Expired/Canceled.
You can customize your Pull List format (by calling/emailing the Help Desk), depending on the view you find most useful. See the list to the right, which has only 4 columns (Author, Title, Pickup Library, and Call No).
If an item is on your Pull List, it will stay there until you either fill the request or mark the item missing in its record.
It is never acceptable to delete the request of a borrower from another library.
Mark an item Trace:
When you mark it trace, the request will go to another library that owns the item.
If you can’t mark an item missing, see What to do if you can’t mark an item missing?
If you have the only circulating copy of an item that you mark missing/trace, contact the requester’s home library. That library can then order the item through MNLINK or speak to their borrower.
